#CNL2016: Get To Know Brett Eldredge

BrettEldredge

When I’m not drooling over DJ’s, my guilty pleasure of soulful and sexy country musicians comes out from the closet (along with a pair of denim cut-offs and my hometown southern drawl). Picture an atmosphere as energetic and free-wheeling as #FEST but add a little twang and you’ve got Country Night Lights. If I only learned one thing in my formative years living in a small West Virginia town, it’s country kids know how to have a damn good time.

With instant attention from Rolling Stone and Billboard online, #CNL2016 looks like it will send a shiver down your saddle and a shot of moonshine straight into your bloodstream (I highly recommend George Washington’s original recipe, only for sipping). Let’s keep it Country 101 with an introduction to headliner Brett Eldredge, a three-time chart topper who is more mainstream pop than Merle Haggard.

The 29-year-old Illinois born artist was recently nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music while also revealing a new unnamed single that will be out early next month. With so-catchy-it-kills melodies and chart topping tracks like “Lose My Mind” and “Mean To Me”, the Country Night Lights headliner and Atlantic Records artist seems to be having his best year ever. His brand is a blend of soulful sound with lyrics laced of a classic country POV and an Abercrombie & Fitch model appeal…like a polished Marlboro man. This is 21st-Century Country, and it’s highly contagious.

Preview what you’ll see in September with some of Brett’s bests below, then head over to www.countrynightlights.com for an array of ticket options (GA, VIP, camping, and RV passes).

Use the hashtag #CNL2016 to tweet @cntrynghtlghts who else you want to see on this year’s lineup!

Get Hyped For Haunted Fest With NGHTMRE’s Latest Guest Mix

nghtmre

Haunted Fest Columbus is only days away, and it’s gearing up to be Ohio’s biggest party of the year. Boasting acts like NGHTMRE, Martin Garrix, Snails, Cash Cash, and Pierce Fulton, a billing of this caliber just doesn’t happen in the midwest.

As if you weren’t already hyped for the impending shenanigans, NGHTMRE just dropped an absolutely filthy guest mix on Diplo & Friends. We think it sums up Halloween perfectly, and packs some of the hardest hitting tracks of the year. Andrei Stephen’s remix of “Some Chords,” NGHTMRE’s own “Street,” and EPTIC’s “The End (Breaux VIP)” are just a few of the murderous sounds featured on this mix. Have a listen below, and share the stoke.

We can’t wait to see you this Friday at the Ohio Expo Center! Hit us up on Facebook, let us know your plans on Twitter, have a listen below, and don’t forget to share the stoke.

Louis The Child’s Weekend Playlist

Louis The Child

Louis The Child are dynamic EDM artists that will be performing at Spring Awakening for the second time in 2 years. Just 16 and 17 years old, the duo consists of Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett, and they have prospered in the music scene this year, a feat that can be accredited to their debut EP, Dimensions. That project released towards the end of last winter and featured five original songs that show-cased their natural inclination to experiment with new genres.

This year, Louis The Child’s name has risen through their remixes of alternative music. Funky, nu-disco tracks such as “Wonder” by Adventure Club, and “Perth” by Bon Iver are led by Louis The Chid’s chic and melodic style that also bumps. They’ve even put out more originals this year, like “Casse”, which was well-received by their rapidly growing fan-base and even further signals towards their high-trajectory as DJs/producers.

Curators of this weekend’s playlist, Louis The Child’s set is one hour and a half electronica, disco, and house beats. Names like Madeon, Goldroom, Kygo, Wave Racer, Trippy Turtle, and The Chainsmokers appear in this set, which alludes to Louis The Child’s complex, yet refined tastes in music. A diverse selection of futuristic EDM, expect big things from Louis The Child who draw influence from these artists in their own music. Take a listen to Louis The Child’s Weekend Playlist and start following them on twitter and soundcloud for information on upcoming shows and new music. Enjoy!
