#CNL2016: Get To Know Brett Eldredge

When I’m not drooling over DJ’s, my guilty pleasure of soulful and sexy country musicians comes out from the closet (along with a pair of denim cut-offs and my hometown southern drawl). Picture an atmosphere as energetic and free-wheeling as #FEST but add a little twang and you’ve got Country Night Lights. If I only learned one thing in my formative years living in a small West Virginia town, it’s country kids know how to have a damn good time.

With instant attention from Rolling Stone and Billboard online, #CNL2016 looks like it will send a shiver down your saddle and a shot of moonshine straight into your bloodstream (I highly recommend George Washington’s original recipe, only for sipping). Let’s keep it Country 101 with an introduction to headliner Brett Eldredge, a three-time chart topper who is more mainstream pop than Merle Haggard.

The 29-year-old Illinois born artist was recently nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music while also revealing a new unnamed single that will be out early next month. With so-catchy-it-kills melodies and chart topping tracks like “Lose My Mind” and “Mean To Me”, the Country Night Lights headliner and Atlantic Records artist seems to be having his best year ever. His brand is a blend of soulful sound with lyrics laced of a classic country POV and an Abercrombie & Fitch model appeal…like a polished Marlboro man. This is 21st-Century Country, and it’s highly contagious.

Preview what you’ll see in September with some of Brett’s bests below, then head over to for an array of ticket options (GA, VIP, camping, and RV passes).

The Fetty Wap Songs You Haven’t Overplayed Yet

Headliner of the 14th installment of #Fest Fetty Wap has basically blown the air waves of every radio station and speakers out of all the clubs with arguably the most ubiquitous song of 2015 “Trap Queen”. He’s got that soda… but he’s also got an entire debut album full of hits. Here are some you may not have heard (or completely overplayed and ruined for yourself) yet.

#1. Trap Luv
A natural transition from loving his trap queen to loving the trap life in general. The simple yet effective bass chord progressions give “Trap Luv” an “Oh I’ve heard this before” sensibility.

#2. I’m Straight
Another smooth sampling of trap synth in “I’m Straight”, his flow is quicker than on other tracks but still provides that lack of annunciation we all know and love of the rapper.

#3. Let It Bang
Another catchy, melodic track off his debut album,”Let It Bang” doesn’t stray from the Fetty Wap appeal- that constant presence of the 808 bass and repetitive crooning with synthetic flair. His music is reliable and rolling without trying too hard.

#4. Handgun
The rapper just released a new single which is a significant departure from any of these tracks, though he did re-enlist the Remy Boyz (also on his chart-topping track “679”). Entitled “Handgun”, give this new track a listen below.

Fetty Wap’s self-titled, debut studio album hit the shelves in September and momentum for the 17 tracks has yet to let up. The album, which includes three extra tracks if you cough up the extra cash for the deluxe edition, is out via 300 Entertainment/RGF Productions.

A day after the release of this album, Fetty Wap was  injured while riding a motorcycle in his hometown of Patterson, New Jersey. A witness has said Fetty was trying to pass a vehicle in front of him and apparently didn’t see an oncoming car which hit him head on. Fetty is expected to make a full recovery after he spent a couple days in the hospital. Stream his entire debut album here.

Hudson Project Launches This Weekend At 94′ Woodstock Location! [Event Preview]

For the people of NY, Philly, Boston, & Baltimore areas, this year’s Hudson Music Project is a festival-goers dream come true. If you weren’t lucky enough to make it out to Electric Forest in Michigan this year, or bummed by the cancellation of Camp Bisco, have no fear because THP is finally here.

Not only is this event located in a perfect and nearby location- Winston Farms in the Catskills, (and historic site of good vibes) but it packs shockingly big headliners & a variety of sounds for a festival in its first year; featuring Bassnectar, Kendrick Lamar, Modest Mouse, STS9, The Flaming Lips, Big Gigantic, Griz, Paper Diamond, LettuceKygo, and many many more. But this is no surprise coming from MCP presents- the people who seamlessly put Tomorrow World, Lights All Night, Counterpoint and Buku on the map.

There are some acts you just can’t afford to miss- with the much anticipated recent release of Bassnectar’s new album Noise Vs. Beauty, even his most loyal followers will be treated to a brand new production of video, light, and sound. Kygo’s first tour which packed an almost immovable crowd at E-forest is sure to be a crowd favorite. Big G’s live freestyle ensembles of sax, keyboards, and laptop is never predictable, and if the unique remixes of familiar and throwback sounds by Kill Paris don’t make you dance then I don’t know what will.

There is almost too much to be excited about for one weekend. Can’t wait to get down with you all in Woodstock NY this Friday.

Event Preview: Skrillex To Headline At The Bluestone (Columbus, OH) W/ Bro Safari & Valentino Khan!

Skrillex - Columbus OH

Skrillex will arrive in Columbus, Ohio on November 12th for his Fall Club Tour. Any person holding a ticket is undoubtedly ecstatic to take part in the high energy, bass pounding show that DJ/producer Sonny Moore brings to each set. The tour is compiled of a focused blitz of sold-out concerts that only span nine dates; Five in America, and four in Europe. A blinding barrage of lights and thundering bass will curate a memorable experience, but it is the supporting talent that pushes the tour even further.

Currently in the midst of his Animal House Tour, Bro Safari has quite the resume and his sets will without question set the tone for Skrillex. Bro Safari is the dubstep moniker of tenured DJ Nick Weiller. Weiller has been throwing down sets over the past decade under different stage names and styles. Evol Intent was a three man drum & bass act, which was comprised of Weiller, Ashley Jones and Michael Diasio. Weiller then embarked on a mashup project with Kill the Noise called Ludachrist. The current Animal release by Bro Safari and UFO! is a free download, and is sure to receive heavy rotation across the U.S.

Valentino Khan may not be a household name, but he has production credits for a wide array of A-List artists including B.o.B, T.I., 2 Chainz, Bruno Mars and Tyga. Official remixes have been produced for Kreayshawn, The Bloody Beetroots, Benny Benassi as well as many more notable acts. One project worth highlighting is Mark the Throne, a complete remix of the Watch the Throne album by Jay Z & Kanye West. The project showcases Valentino’s eclectic style, and only further cemented his name on the list of top EDM producers. Valentino’s work embodies the EDM crossover into hip hop & pop music.

Between the aforementioned acts, the Fall Club Tour boasts one of the most impressive lineups of the fall. The assembled talent carries considerable significance to the EDM scene. Each night of the tour will be comparable to a raver’s oasis. From the opener to the closer, each artist has left an impactful footprint in their own right. The tour is only a testament for what is yet to come for EDM.
