NGHTMRE Releases “Get Back” On Mad Decent

It seems that NGHTMRE just cannot be stopped, but then again, why would we ever want him to? Whether it be news of a tour, a new track, a new mix, or even more so, his highly anticipated EP, Tyler Marenyi, known better by his stage name, NGHTMRE, is keeping himself (and fans) busy in 2016.

Despite currently being on his LIGHTERS UP tour, NGHTMRE has hardly let that stop him from releasing new music. He most recently released his Triple J mix-up and two songs from his forthcoming EP, but NGHTMRE has once again provided fans with something new to enjoy. Today, finally, after several previews on his social media sites, NGHTMRE releases “Get Back” on Mad Decent. Check it out below.

The Life Backstage: NGHTMRE Interview At Haunted Fest 2015

We had the chance to catch the incredible NGHTMRE at last month’s Haunted Fest, Ohio’s biggest Halloween Party on OSU’s campus. One of the hottest acts in bass music today, NGHTMRE’s momentum is on an astronomical pace towards the top. About to embark on his own headlining tour, we were so thankful to catch up with one of our personal favorite artists before his career really begins to take flight. Co-producing and touring with some of the hottest names in dubstep/bass music: Slander, Flosstradamus, Datsik, Zomboy, Flux Pavilion (to name a few), the future is going to be very bright for NGHTMRE. Also keep your eyes peeled for new releases coming up on Mad Decent Records.

“There’s no time for sleep when NGHTMRE is in the mix.” [Diplo]

Who, or what, is NGHTMRE?

I want NGHTMRE to be a few things. First off, it’s music that I love. I try to just focus on making music that I really feel passionate about. I think when you do that, you will see a much more genuine appreciation and reaction from fans.

I also want NGHTMRE to be a brand that represents something more. I want to be an inspiration for people who want to follow their dreams, but are scared to take their first steps out into the unknown. That’s why I’ve developed the crystal ball as my logo. When people think of a crystal ball they think of ‘seeing the future’. I want people to realize that every single person in the world has the ability to create their future and create their own happiness. I want NGHTMRE to encourage people who might be in a job or part of their life where they are unhappy to take steps towards fulfilling their dreams.

Your Diplo & Friends Guest Mix is filthy, and a great example of a NGHTMRE DJ set. A Diplo & Friends Mix basically gives you a golden ticket; a known gold standard that produces future success. Have any amazing doors been opened since the release of that mix?

Well, everything has been moving really quickly since the release of “Street”. Being able to finally go on my own headlining tour has been absolutely amazing and I’m so excited for the future. As for the mix, I’m not sure if it specifically has opened any doors but the feedback from everyone has been incredible! I’ve also got some HUGE collaborations coming up because of it that I can’t mention yet that may have been a result of the mix.

What’s your favorite track to play at the moment?

One of my favorites is “The Hills (RL Grime Remix)”. When I first heard the song I really liked it, but when I heard it played out live I knew it was a smash! Whenever I play it in my set it gets such a good reaction and brings such positive energy to the crowd, he really killed it on that one.

What was the last concert you attended for pleasure?

I went to see Porter Robinson Live after my set at Moonrise Festival this year. It was absolutely incredible and inspiring. I’ve always looked up to him and seeing that live performance really encouraged me to keep pushing the boundaries or dance music

Earlier this year, Skrillex dropped “Street,” unreleased at the time, during his Ultra set and you seemed geeked about it. What are some other moments that have stood out for you in your career?

This was definitely one of the best moments of my year. Another one was my set at Lollapalooza. It was my 5th show in 4 days so I was extremely tired, the set got moved back due to weather, and we had no idea how many people would actually show up for my set. Then when the time came my crowd grew from 500 to 8000 in a matter of minutes. The energy was incredible and its a moment I will never forget.

Are we going to see the “Street” VIP mix release anytime soon?

Next month! I’ll be releasing it following “Lighters Up” with Flosstradamus

You’ve got an intense tour schedule until the end of the year, have you been writing anything while on the road? What’s your plan once you get a break?

Yeah I’ve actually gotten pretty good at writing music with nothing but my laptop. I didn’t think it would happen but I’ve kind of gotten used to writing music on airplanes, in airports, in my hotel, and wherever I can find a minute to write down my ideas! Whenever I am at home I always schedule studio time too. Working in a nice space like that is always better for creativity than in a busy airport.

If you could make a song with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be?

I think it would be the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante and Chad Smith. They had such an influence on me and the music I listened to growing up. To work with them would be unreal.

beats and bad dreams.

Grabbitz – 151 (Original Mix)“Super cool blend of trap & dubstep that actually works, is catchy & memorable, and has staying power. Been jamming to this heavy!”

Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash feat. John Martin – Reload (Lush & Simon Bootleg)“The first Lush & Simon track I heard a few months back that really turned me on to their sound. Amazing progressive house.”

Major Lazer – Jet Blue Jet (Tujamo Remix)“Tujamo tracks are always something special. The 2nd drop of this is the funkiest thing I’ve heard in a minute.”

DA OCTOPUSSS – Chrystal“One of the absolute best & most unique tracks I’ve ever heard. If you’ve never heard of DA OCTOPUSSS, get familiar.”

Jake Sgarlato – Power (Original Mix)“Jake Sgarlato is a new talent I’ve found that cranks out some pure heat, and his track “Power” backs up that statement tenfold.”

Shelboy – Bounce (Original Mix)“Another new discovery of mine, Shelboy’s “Bounce” makes you do just that. This track goes OFF!”

Tyler The Creator – Tamale (Big Makk In The Jungle Bootleg)“One of my favorite remixes currently. Super tribal, very fun to listen to.”

LeKtriQue & Seek N Destroy – Atomic“Who doesn’t love copious amounts of electric guitar & chanting choirs in a breakdown followed a massive drop? Exactly.”

Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars (Gazzo Remix)“Amazing remix of an amazing song. Makes me wanna hug someone during the breakdown, then punch them on the drop.”

LIZ – All Them Boys“Between the piano, breathtaking vocals, and undeniable rhythm this track has, LIZ has graced the world with something fabulous.”

Caravan Palace – Beatophone (Club Mix)“Caravan Palace just proved why they’re some of my favorite artists. Hopefully you agree.”

Mumford & Sons – Little Lion Man (Filtercrush Remix)“I stumbled upon this remix by accident and I’m really glad I did. If that buildup didn’t give you goosebumps I’m not sure what to even say to you.”

Benjamin Francis Leftwich – Atlas Hands (Thomas Jack Remix): “Thomas Jack is brilliant. When he calls something “tropical house”, he really means it. Blissful.”

We Are Presidents – Lamborghini: “This is the kind of electro that got me into EDM. Throw in an incredible orchestral intro and I’ve got this on repeat for days.”

Bingo Players – Devotion: “With the recent passing of Paul Baumer of the Bingo Players, I thought it would only be right to cap this playlist off with a Bingo Players classic. Most people knew them from “Rattle”, but “Devotion” was the first track of theirs I heard, and it gave me a new perspective on house music. Rest peacefully, Paul.”

Listen to Victor Niglio’s latest track, “Jiggy”.
